Today is June 6th and these are some boring updates about some attempted life improvements:
A week into my June punch list, and I think it’s started out pretty well. I did the gym Monday-Thursday and even though I thought I was going to die on Monday and Tuesday, by Wednesday I was actually looking forward to it—partially because it made me feel like i was accomplishing something and partially because it actually felt good. I think the difference this time around is that it’s something I’m doing 100% for myself and not just because I know peripherally that it’s something I should be doing. I also found some cheap 5 lb. weights at TJ Maxx and found a few upper-body exercises I can do at home, while watching TV (the best kind of exercise, no?), and I can already tell I’m going to be sore. But it’s okay, it’ll be worth it.
Other things that have gone well this week: Quelled the road rage all week. Ate breakfast all week. Cooked a couple of things. Brought lunch most days. Finished a (good) book. Took a picture every day. Uploaded and organized photos. Backed up my computer for the first time in months. Started to work through some residual frustration. Did some yoga.
And now I will post some more Jónsi, since that seems to be the soundtrack of May and June. Can’t find a recording, so Youtube will have to do.
