This is one of those songs that I’ve consistently gone back and listened to to throughout the past few years. The original version was by Thornton, who I saw perform it for the first time with Lovedrug at the Exit In. I was supposed to go to that show with my boyfriend, except I’d dumped him a couple days before that (you know, on February 15th!) Anyway, the old version of this song made it on just about every incarnation of the breakup playlist, and many others since then.

They’ve re-recorded it under a new name and this time around it’s little bit happier. And so is my life. It’s one of those weird things where everything comes full-circle. And also, they’re playing a free show on Sunday at 12th & Porter with free drinks. I’m in.
