A String Of Thoughts On Sunday

  • Once your table becomes That Table on which strangers discard all their empty beer bottles during a show, it’s time to go home.
  • Confession: Even after four years of social work school, people with serious mental illnesses still freak me out more than just about anything.
  • Marking 800+ Google Reader items as read doesn’t feel like a cop-out; it feels great.
  • Brian Eno’s song “The Big Ship” is good for the soul.
  • I got a paper journal in Asheville last weekend and I paid too much for it, but it smells good and it smells like leather. And remembering what it’s like not writing for an audience is priceless.
  • Being caught in the rain in January isn’t quite as nice as being caught in the rain in June.
  • I stayed put this weekend and I felt agitated but it was good. Having good friends around helps with that.

About

Sometimes I write things on Nashvillest.com and other times I work a real job that involves lots of airports, hotels, spreadsheets and the occasional pantsuit. Avid roadtripper, lover of redbud trees and firm believer in taking the scenic route. These are a few of my favorite things.

Ask me anything.
