Today I Quit Volunteering.

This headline may come as a shock to most of you. If you know just how important volunteering is to me. But hang with me, and I’ll explain.

Some people volunteer because it makes them feel good. Some people volunteer because they think they have to. Some people volunteer because they’d rather spend their spare time doing something than sitting still. Some people volunteer because they want to make a difference in this world. And others volunteer because they feel they grow personally by doing so.

I’m one of all of these people. But the main reason that I began volunteering in the first place was an insatiable need to prove myself as valuable.
