New Year’s Resolutions.

The shortlist:

  • Get a passport/Leave the country. This has needed to happen for a while. As of this afternoon, my passport application is finished and my Christmas money has been pooled to cover the fees. I don’t know if I’ll actually get a shot at leaving the country in 2011, but I’ll at least have the option.
  • Make my health a priority. Not just weight loss… health. This would normally be the most unattainable resolution, but I proved to myself in 2010 that I have the discipline to do it so now I just need to keep it up.
  • Love on people better. One of my favorite things about 2010 was getting to know a lot of people who are really good at making other people feel loved. I want to be one of those people. Whether it’s dropping someone a text when I’m thinking about them, sending a few cards/postcards, occasionally telling people how much they mean to me… that all needs to happen.
  • Review and comment on things on the internet. The internet is mostly a spectator sport for me, but I live and die by reviews. When I want to check out a new restaurant, I look at reviews. When I’m shopping for something, I look at reviews. When I’m trying to decide where to buy something, I look at reviews. So, I should probably also write reviews because it’s helpful. I also really like it when people leave comments on Nashvillest because it lets me know they’re still reading, so I want to return the favor to other folks.
  • Answer emails/texts/tweets/whatever. I am notoriously awful (seriously, awful) at answering emails. The only reason for that is because I’m lazy. And yet I get super irritated when people don’t answer mine, which is dumb. So in 2011, I vow to answer people and do it within a reasonable time frame.
  • Take more pictures. Project 365 take 2, here I come.

About

Sometimes I write things on Nashvillest.com and other times I work a real job that involves lots of airports, hotels, spreadsheets and the occasional pantsuit. Avid roadtripper, lover of redbud trees and firm believer in taking the scenic route. These are a few of my favorite things.

Ask me anything.
