My dad is a badass.

On April 1, 1972 (no kidding), Neal Frink piloted the first flight of his homemade hang glider, patterned after the Hang Loose glider from a Popular Mechanics article. The glider was built as a high school physics project out of douglas fir, polyurethane plastic, bailing wire, cardboard, and glue at a cost of $32.56. Neal went on to pursue an exciting 30+ year career as an aerospace researcher at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia.

About

Sometimes I write things on Nashvillest.com and other times I work a real job that involves lots of airports, hotels, spreadsheets and the occasional pantsuit. Avid roadtripper, lover of redbud trees and firm believer in taking the scenic route. These are a few of my favorite things.

Ask me anything.
